- 3
Download Excel or CSV
Choose one Amount column (money out negative) or separate Money in and Money out columns, then download a spreadsheet ready for Excel, Google Sheets, QuickBooks or Xero.
Frequently asked
Is my bank statement uploaded?+
No. The PDF is read by your own browser and the spreadsheet is made on your device. Nothing about your account, balances or transactions is sent anywhere, which is the point: most statement converters upload your file to their server first.
Which banks does it work with?+
It reads the layout rather than looking for one bank's design, so it works with most US banks and credit cards that issue PDF statements with real text: checking, savings and card statements, whether they split money in and out into sections or columns or print signed amounts.
How do I know nothing was missed?+
When the statement prints an opening and closing balance, the tool adds every transaction it found to the opening balance and checks the result against the closing balance, to the cent. If they agree, you see a green check. If not, it tells you by how much, and marks any row whose direction it had to guess.
Does it work on scanned or photographed statements?+
Not directly, because a scan is a picture with no text in it. Run the scan through OCR PDF first, then convert the searchable PDF it gives you. Clean scans work best.
Can I import the result into QuickBooks or Xero?+
Yes. The CSV uses US dates and plain numbers, with either one Amount column or separate Money in and Money out columns, which are the two layouts QuickBooks Online, Xero and most budgeting apps import.
Can I convert several statements at once?+
With Pro, yes: drop in up to 20 statements, such as a whole year, and get one spreadsheet with every transaction in date order and a column saying which statement it came from. Without Pro, convert them one at a time; there is no daily limit.
Is Bank statement converter free to use?+
Yes. Bank statement converter is free and unlimited, with no account and no watermark added to your document.
Are my files uploaded to a server?+
No. Bank statement converter runs entirely inside your browser, so the document never leaves your device.
Which browsers does it work in?+
Any current version of Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari, on desktop, tablet and phone.
