How to turn photos into a PDF
October 30, 2026 · 1 min read
Expense reports, rental applications and insurance claims often want documents you only have as photos: receipts, a signed form you snapped on your phone, both sides of a driver's license. One PDF is easier to send, easier to read and less likely to get lost than a pile of image attachments.
Turn the photos into a PDF
- Open JPG to PDF and add your images. JPG, PNG and other common formats all work.
- Drag them into order, then set the page size, orientation and margins.
- Save the PDF. It is built in your browser, so the photos never leave your device.
Tips for photos that look like scans
- Shoot straight down, in good daylight, with the page filling the frame.
- Put the page on a dark, plain surface so its edges stand out.
- Turn off the flash, which causes glare on glossy paper and plastic cards.
- Use your phone's built-in document scanner if it has one; it straightens and crops pages automatically.
Too big to email?
Phone photos are large, so a PDF of a dozen of them can easily pass email limits. Run it through Compress PDF on Balanced or Strong. And if a page ended up sideways or in the wrong place, fix it in Organize PDF.
Photos of IDs, bank cards and signed forms are exactly what you shouldn't upload to a stranger's server. Converting them in your browser keeps them on your phone or computer.
