Is a signature made here legally valid?+
In the US, the ESIGN Act and UETA treat an electronic signature as valid for most agreements when the person meant to sign, and the same idea holds in the EU and UK. What counts is the intent and the record of it, not how the signature looks. Wills, some court and real-estate papers, and a few government forms still need ink or a specific process, so check if you are unsure.
What is a transparent PNG for?+
A transparent background lets the signature sit on any document, letterhead or coloured form without a white box around it. Use the white-background version for apps that do not handle transparency well.
How do I get a good result from a photo?+
Sign with a dark pen on plain white paper, photograph it straight on in even light, and fill the frame with the signature. Then use the clean-up slider: left removes shadows and paper texture, right keeps faint strokes.
Is my signature uploaded or stored?+
No. It is made on canvases in your browser and never sent anywhere. If you press Sign a PDF, it is passed to that page within this browser tab and removed as soon as the page picks it up.
Can I use it to sign documents other people send me?+
